Vinda International’s MSCI ESG Rating Upgrades to “A”

(17 December 2021 – Hong Kong)  Vinda International Holdings Limited (“Vinda International”, which together with its subsidiaries is referred to as the “Group”, stock code: 3331), is pleased to announce that in light of the Group’s recent outperformance in corporate governance and ESG practices, MSCI, the world’s largest index company, has upgraded the Group’s ESG rating from “BBB” to “A”, the highest ESG rating in China’s tissue industry. This is full recognition of Vinda International's outstanding performance in ESG. 

The MSCI ESG rating upgrade is a culmination of the Group's efforts in ESG over the past years. Among the scoring categories, Vinda International was notably outstanding in “Chemical Safety”, where it currently leads the industry, and in “Raw Material Sourcing”, with a score significantly above the industry average. The MSCI report also specifically recognized Vinda International's excellence in corporate governance, which was a key factor in the Group’s rating upgrade.   

MSCI ESG ratings aim to measure global enterprises’ resilience to long-term, financially relevant ESG risks, and provide in-depth research, ratings, and analysis of their environmental, social, and governance-related business practices. It is one of the institutional investors’ most widely adopted and used tools.
